This project aims to find related factors which result in students’ lateness to class. We will use a questionnaire to collect data from participants. The volunteers will be invited at bus stops, residents, parking lots and in classrooms. The questions are about possible factors that influence their arriving time. Scale will also be applied to the answers. Data collected will be analyzed by the correlation.

Kimchi fermentation is widely spread and popular for all age people. Kimchi fermentation is influenced by many factors, including temperature, salt contend, categories of cabbage used and amount of water used. Commonly, when Kimchi is made, it needs approximately 10- 20 days to ferment. Therefore, we are wondering how to control factors of Kimchi fermentation to get a fastest way to produce Kimchi. In this project, we will compare the time of fermentation under control of several factors. And we will choose the shortest time of fermentation as the best factors to promote Kimchi fermentation. Also, we will control various factors to stay the same. By analysis, we will collect the time of each fermentation experiment and speculate the factors which fastens the fermentation best. To conduct multiple experiments, control groups of same various factors will be set and fermentation time, temperature, the weight of seasoning, the weight of water used, weight of cabbage samples will be recorded. It is hypothesized that the medium content of salt and high temperature may get the fastest fermentation. In this experiment, experimental data collected may be not abundant and accurate enough, which is likely to bring some error.
Since ancient times, soil has offered one of the most important supplements (food) for all living beings. Ancestral and scientific techniques have been applied with the objective to improve the soil conditions. Thus, natural fertilizers have become very useful for millions of farmers. In that way, nitrogen supply and organic compose are clear representation of alternative natural techniques. But, how reacts each one of them in contact with the soil and the growing plants? This project is being performed with the objective to determine some of the most visible characteristics during the growing of maize at the same weather conditions. Three maize plants have been planted, each one of them in a different spot. The soil conditions were the same before planting. However, during the process, Nitrogen supply was applied for the first sample, organic compose was applied for the second sample, and any fertilizer was applied for the third sample (control sample). By performing our project, we will have the opportunity to measure: the pH present in the soil (before, during and after the growing), the size of each maize plant (per week), the final characteristics of each sample, etc. Additionally, relevant observations will be also recorded. At the end, the understanding about how soil and plants react with natural fertilizers will be described clearly in the corresponding presentation providing interesting results.
In this research, we will test the relationship between the volume of diet coke and the pressure of eruption. We want to use the same amount of Mentos, and add them into different volume of diet coke to see if the volume of diet coke can affect the eruption. The pressure of the coke can affect the highest point the diet coke can get. As the increase of volume of diet coke, we will find the trend of the change of highest point, which also can reflect the change of the pressure of diet coke. We predict the graph of their relationship may be linear or quadratic. To make sure of the accuracy of our experiment, we will keep temperature and experimental equipment to be the same.
Music is always a carrier of emotions, a conservation between speakers and listeners and a symbol of thoughts and ideas. As the reinforce of globalization and the improvement of living standard, the exchange of messages and emotions becomes universally and frequently. Music, especially for pop music, nowadays, has become a significant and effective approach to communication. In the meanwhile, the choice of words is an immediate way to convey the message and emotion. In this project, the most popular words in pop music from different components, such as different cultures, times, events, will be identified with applying the statistical analysis to investigate whether there is a correlation between the most popular words in pop music and these elements. Even though some trends will not be explained exhaustive, this project will still be a new perspective and understanding in analyzing the emotions in different states.
Our research is going to find the correlation between cooking time and the fat and the protein contained in beefs. From some chef’s experience, beef from different body parts of cattle need different cooking conditions to make it mature. We are planning to conduct two experiments. The first one is to determine how the cooking time varies with cattle’s body part and the second one is to determine the effect of certain amount fat and protein on cooking time.
The propagation of plant seed is affected by weather, so plants also have methods to protect the seeds. Pine seeds are below the pineal scales, pine nuts can quickly fall off when dry scales open. But when it rains, the scale of pine cone will close to protect seeds. So we decided to study how the scale of pine cone closes in different weather conditions. We will use different water conditions to simulate different weather conditions and find whether the sale of pine cone will close. Through this research, we would like to find a suitable weather for pine trees to propagate seeds.
Sustainable agricultural techniques are important to preserve soil fertility and enable a continuous cropping. Sustainability is understood as the environmentally friendly management of sources which allow the conservation of local biodiversity. In this project, the application of milpa or three sisters agricultural technique will be evaluated to decide whether it is a sustainable method that can be used for the standard maize cultivation. Along with maize seeds; beans and pumpkins are the species used in the common milpa technique. The soil fertility and the rate of growth of specimens will be measured to account for the evidence of this research.
The general circle packing problem is open. In this paper, we focus on cases in which the configuration is symmetric. We conjecture that a symmetric optimal configuration of congruent disks is a good candidate for a general optimal configuration.
Our objective is to determine which concentration of brine has a better heat absorption qualities. We find that distilled water has better heat absorption qualities within the temperature range from 30 to 90 degrees Celcius.
