Genevieve liu
Former Vantage College student
UBC Materials engineering
My name is Genevieve Liu and I'm currently a third-year Material Engineering student in University of British Columbia(UBC). My favorite place on campus is the wreck beach, because, in my spare time, I like walking along the seaside. Especially in the summer, every time I go down the stairs to the beach I see different views and they are all beautiful.
I spent my first year in Vantage college UBC and I graduated from Vantage college engineering stream in 2016 summer. I'm very glad that I can be one of the members in the first session of vantage college engineering stream. I had great experience in Vantage College. My transition from high school to university was smooth because of Vantage collage. In my first year, I spent most of my time on study and I did well in my courses. In the second year, I started to do more things other than school work and I found that I love volunteering. I did many volunteering throughout my second year and they provide brand new experience to me. I learn many new things in university, for example, group work, project management, academic writing. Last summer, I attended Vantage College Conference as a poster presenter for my team's summer project and that made a great ending to my experience in Vantage College.
In the coming semester, I will keep work hard and experience new things outside of school. I will attend more conference and take part in some social events to meet new friends.
